2011 Fanbook Project
Hello all, this is your lurking mod Chenka!
Less than a year before L'Arc~en~Ciel will be back to giving concerts, and to celebrate this the mod-team has thought up a plan for a big, epic
FANBOOK
★ What is a fanbook?
A fanbook is a book put together by fans of a band, as a gift for the band, to show them appreciation.
★ How is this fanbook different from other fanbooks?
This fanbook will include entries from every continent (South America, North America, Europe, Oceania, Asia and Africa). We want to try our best to give every continent an opportunity to show their best to the band. This fanbook will be put together per continent, and every continent will have its own organisation and team to organise entries and put their part of the fanbook together. In the end, every continent's entry will be send to our mod din_84 in Tokyo to be put together and given to the band/management.
★ The rules
- Every continent gets a max of 20 pages (making a maximum total of 120 pages). This means one smaller entry per person. As a whole it will be a collage of fan entries. It's up to the continent groups to organise it so that all entries will fit in.
- The format of every page is A4
- All in all fanletters should not make up the most part of the book, but should just be small pieces of our thought bubbles between other stuff like pictures, drawings, collages etc. Be creative!
- Language of entries should be in English or Japanese. Let's face it, they won't be able to read Spanish, German or your local dialect (in fact, English might be troublesome enough as it is). If a fan who doesn't know Japanese or English wants to participate, it's the duty of the continent team to take care of a good translation.
- Please keep the content decent. No yaoi or shounenai related content will be allowed. As a general rule, don't send in anything you wouldn't show or tell the band to their faces.
- No rabid fangirling. Please keep your entry sane! It would be nice if the fanbook is more than just "COME TO MY COUNTRY!!" or "I LOVE YOU HYDE!". It's all meant to show your appreciation to the band, so nicely thought-out entries are very appreciated!
- If you are unsure about your entry, ask or use common sense!
- No putting in rings or cds or something like that, DON'T GLUE IT ON PAPER. Please keep your entries flat.
- Finally, this is a fanbook for the band as a whole, and thus we discourage entries for and about the solo projects.
★ What about the continent groups?
We hope that for every continent, people who are interested in leading will step up to volunteer. So if you're interested, please do leave a comment! Please note that this project will take dedication, as it's a rather long-running project and we're all set on making it epic.
The continent leaders are the ones who have to take care of a place to organise the entries and discuss ideas for the project. For this, a Livejournal community is preferred. Also, the continent leaders are responsible for keeping in touch with eachother and discuss questions and problems that may occur. They are also responsible for getting the entries together and making sure they end up with din_84.
For the time being, the mods of this community (din_84, aalenchan, muirin and chenka) will take care of the European leg of the fanbook until the project is running stably. If you have any questions, feel free to ask until all is clear to you!
★ Submitting entries
Each group should organize themselves and find a person who will collect all the continent's entries and send it to Tokyo, which means din_84 will get 5 bundles of pages in the end which she will then join together to one fanbook.
Entries should at least include:
- Your name (a nickname is fine, but please keep it realistic. No "Hydelover1992" or things like that!)
- Your country
- Age is optional, but would be appreciated if you include it
★ Deadline
The deadline for now is November 2010, with a progress check in September 2010. The deadline might change as soon as we have any info on where and when L'Arc will be touring in 2011. This fanbook takes a lot of organisation, so it's good to have lots of time.
The name, front and back side of the book will be decided on later.
Since this project is only just starting out, any comments and suggestions are welcome.
