A construction site set up in
front of Shibuya ’s iconic
shopping mall 109 to promote
Kazunari Ninomiya ’s (27)
upcoming drama has attracted
more than 20,000 people since
Saturday, reports Oricon.
Nino’s drama “フリーター、家
を買う (Freeter, Ie wo Kau)”
revolves around a construction
work theme, which inspired its
latest promotion, where peeking
holes allow people to watch 30
second videos of behind-the-
scenes footage, 3D footage of
Nino in his construction site
uniform, and messages from
those involved with the drama.
The site had opened on Saturday
and will remain open to the
public until October 13.
It has been reported over the
first three days, more than
20,000 people had come for a
sneak peek.
The drama follows a recent
university graduate who quits his
first job after merely three
months and becomes a
freelancer (freeter in Japanese).
After his mother is diagnosed as
suffering from depression, he re-
thinks his life and his relationship
with his family and begins to set
goals in making things better for
everyone.
Event organisers had predicted
the promotional site would be a
hit with fans.
“This event has required us to
set up a macho-man’s
construction world right in front
of SHIBUYA 109, the trend-setter
shopping mall for teenage girls.
Of course it ’s going to get the
girl’s attention!,” an organiser
said.
“フリーター、家を買う
(Freeter, Ie wo Kau )” starts on
Japanese TV from October 19
and the cast includes Karina (26),
Atsuko Asano (49), and Naoto
Takenaka (54).
