Horikita Maki at Indonesia for Charity

it's made me got shocked when i red this article...

(JAKARTA) Horikita Maki, an popular actress from Japan did volunteer activity in an orphanage in Jakarta as a part of 24-hour television program that would be airing in Japan at August 20-21 at Nihon-TV. She has done charity in Jakarta, Indonesia for 2 days. Horikita Maki was participated to send the Japanese picture book that has translated into Indonesian-language for Indonesian children. In the last day of her in Indonesia, Horikita Maki was challenged to read the picture book (in Indonesian language) because the children request her to read it for them, even though this is not included in the program plan. After seeing the real situation of Indonesian children, Maki feel motivated and said [I found something that I can do for children as an adult].

The impression of Maki who just come to Jakarta for the first time, there are a lot of skycraper buildings but in other side, there are many children that can’t go to school, living as a beggar, and live in slum area, Maki come to Jakarta for the sake of those children. Jakarta is the city that has a serious problem about broad disparity between rich and poor people. Maki come to Jakarta to deliver the Japanese picture book to children who live in slum area. Maki was also visit a rehabilitation center for street children in Jakarta.
Maki gave greeting in Indonesian language that she remember like [Selamat Siang! (Good afternoon!)] and [Nama saya Maki Horikita (My name is Maki Horikita). Maki continued saying [Please call me Maki], gradually the children get close to Maki. Then, Maki started her volunteer activity, mobile library. Maki and all staffs together were challenged to give puppet show to the children in Indonesian language. Maki was also show the Origami (japanese folding paper art) that she bring from Japan to Indonesian children. Then, Maki was playing basketball with the children. Maki didn’t do this activity as an “actress” but she did this as a “volunteer staff”, she struggle to make the children smile.

After the volunteer activity was ended, there is strong motivation that Maki feel. She said [When I see the life of these children with my own eyes, I feel touched with the children’s smile, I found something that I can do for the children as an adult. Please watch the appearance of Indonesian children who addicted to the book, and the appearance of Japanese people who do volunteer activity like mobile library in Jakarta]
